Texas Shootout Classic is Back - Golf with the Stars to Benefit Charity

Former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Tony Hill announces, "I have moved on and passed the legacy on to Deborah Driskill, and she will continue the Texas Shootout Classic."  The celebrity golf tournament, in its tenth year, will feature local celebrities including Dallas Cowboy legends, basketball greats, local sports media figures, and prominent D/FW business leaders.

The tournament will be held on September 5, 2003 at The Tribute Golf Course in The Colony, Texas.  In addition to Hill, this year's tournament has scheduled to appear notable stars including Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Billy Joe Dupree, Doug Donley, Mike Downs, Preston Pearson, Larry Brown, Jesse Penn, Phil Pozderac, Ron Fellows, Ron Springs, and Robert Newhouse, and anticipates many more.

This year, CEOs Walk the Walk is conducting the tournament and net proceeds will benefit March of Dimes.  "CEOs Walk the Walk is doing a great service for our community, and the combination of sports celebrities and prominent business leaders is the right combination to carry on the legacy," according to Driskill, co-founder of the group.

The Tournament will be preceded by a gala reception, "Celebration of CEOs Walk the Walk", with silent auction on Thursday, September 4th, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the C.R. Smith Museum (www.crsmithmuseum.org).  Sponsors for the Tournament and the Reception include Optimance, Southwest Securities, member SWS Group, and Texas Motor Speedway. Other Gala contributors include the C. R. Smith Museum, American Airlines Training & Conference Center, Caféallday.com, Petals & Parchment, and David W. James Photography

About CEOs Walk the Walk
CEOs Walk the Walk was established in 2002 when Cynthia Driskill, CEO of CDG and member of the Dallas Division Board of the March of Dimes, recognized an untapped opportunity.  Her vision was to provide a way for small and medium size businesses to collectively make a much bigger impact than any one of the companies could by itself.  The team raised nearly $24,000 in 2002, and $80,000 so far this year.  The year-end goal is to sign up 250 CEOs and raise $250,000.  For more information visit http://www.ceoswalkthewalk.com/.
