CDG wins Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award
Not all companies in the news are concerned about having
their ethical practices scrutinized. CDG, a national consulting
firm based in Dallas, is all smiles as it has been named
winner of the Second Annual Greater Business Ethics Award
for companies with fewer than 250 employees. The Society
of Financial Service Professionals sponsors the award in
partnership with SMU’s Maguire Center for Ethics and Public
Responsibility, SMU’s Cox School of Business and the North
Texas Business Ethics Forum.
“We have been very fortunate to win a multitude of awards,
but this is definitely one of the most special to me,” said
Cynthia Driskill, CDG President and CEO. “One of CDG’s core
values is ‘We always do what’s right’. Whenever there is
a question, we always go back to our core values. It’s an
honor that an everyday practice for us is being recognized
by industry,” she said.
The Greater Business Ethics Award honors companies that exemplify and promote
ethical conduct in ways that benefit the workplace, the marketplace, the environment
and the community. CDG has a strong, published code of ethics and a policy of
candid communication about company operations.
Management’s “open-book” management policy has strengthened employees’ loyalty
to the goals of the enterprise. Management has responded by giving employees
wide discretion over how they meet their responsibilities. The company’s nomination
for this year’s award cited CDG’s policy that allows employees to schedule their
own paid time off. There is no set number of days that an employee has off each
year. The commitment of both management and employees to a strong code of ethics
creates an environment of mutual respect.
