Cynthia Driskill Named
Small Business Person of the Year 2001 by U.S. Small Business Administration
38th Annual Small Business Week Recognizes Outstanding
Community Contributions
Cynthia Driskill has been awarded Small Business Person of the
Year 2001 by the Dallas-Fort Worth District of the U.S. Small Business
Administration for her outstanding contributions and advocacy for
small business issues. Driskill is the founder and president of
CDG & Associates, a premier national consulting firm specializing
in the implementation and maintenance of highly specialized human
resources software for Fortune 1000 companies.
The Small Business Person
of the Year is awarded using an extensive list of criteria, including
increase in revenue, growth in number of employees, response to
adversity and contributions to aid community-oriented projects.
CDG has met all criteria with a three-year revenue growth rate of
49 percent, a three-year employee growth rate of 41 percent and
employment of individuals across gender and ethnicity. In addition,
Driskill makes monetary and time commitments to community development
through her involvement with numerous local, regional and national
organizations.
“CDG’s continual growth, in terms of revenue and employees,
has a direct impact on the Dallas-Fort Worth community,” said
Driskill. “Our business transactions contribute to the health
of the local economy, while our employees enjoy job security and
satisfaction.”
In recognition of small
business community’s contribution to the American economy and society,
the U.S. Small Business Administration is celebrating its 38th
annual Small Business Week on May 6-12, 2001. Driskill will attend
the national awards celebration spotlighting district, state and
national winners. The theme for this year is “Small Business…A History
of Success, A Millennium of Opportunity,” as proclaimed by President
Bush.
