CDG Receives
Rising Star Award Among North Texas Women-Owned Businesses
Company promotes initiative for equal access to corporate and government
procurement dollars
CDG, a consulting firm specializing in the implementation
and maintenance of human resources software systems, received the
Rising Star Award from the Women's Business Council - Southwest.
The council is a certified member organization of the national Women's
Business Enterprise, an organization that works to foster diversity
in the world of commerce.
The Rising Star Award recognizes a newly certified Women's Business
Enterprise that has consistently demonstrated the highest degree
of support for and involvement with the council in the first year
of membership. As an advocate for women business owners, the council
works with representatives of corporations to encourage the utilization
and expansion of supplier/vendor diversity programs and provides
a national certification standard.
The Parade of Stars Awards Gala, hosted by the Southwest council,
was held Jan. 23 at the Hotel Inter-Continental in Dallas. The annual
event honors Women's Business Enterprise and corporate members for
their exemplary contributions to the advocacy of women business
owners. Awards presented at the gala include Rising Star, Women's
Business Enterprise Advocate of the Year, Corporate Advocate of
the Year, Women's Business Enterprise of the Year and Corporation
of the Year.
"As the CEO of a woman-owned business, I am delighted to support
the work of the Women's Business Council - Southwest and proud that
CDG has been recognized as a leader in this area," said Cynthia
Driskill, president of CDG. "The Women's Business
Enterprise certification program has enhanced our business opportunities,
allowing for equal access to corporate and government procurement
dollars. CDG's involvement with this organization has greatly contributed
to our overall success."
