CEOs Raise Big Bucks
for March of Dimes
A single clay brick has little
value. But when assembled
with many more bricks, and fortified with
mortar, the result can be a great castle or majestic cathedral.
That was the rationale behind a group of Dallas / Ft. Worth area CEOs who
joined together to collectively walk
in the 2002 WalkAmerica.

Putting
Out Fires
In 1962, a
raging fire in the Sahara Desert shot flames into the air for more than
six months. It was fueled by 550 million feet of natural gas per day and
was dubbed “The Devil’s Cigarette Lighter”. All attempts to put out the
blaze failed until The Red Adair Company arrived on the scene. Red Adair
and his crew extinguished the blaze. And while Red had been fighting
oil-well fires and blowouts for more than twenty years, the recognition he
received from this is what sparked his rise to fame. The Red Adair
Company was also the first to extinguish an underwater wild well and the
first to cap a U.S. well while it was on fire. In 1968, John Wayne
portrayed a character based on Adair in the movie Hellfighters.
Red and his
team went on to extinguish many blazes, but none more impressive than in
the Middle East in 1991. The Red Adair Company extinguished 117 burning
oilwell fires ignited by Saddam Hussein's Iraqi troops retreating from
Kuwait. While estimates of completion of the firefighting operation
ranged from three to five years, Red Adair and his team accomplished this
in only nine months.
The reason
for this story is that it is the best way to describe what CDG does. We
put out fires. When HR and payroll information system projects are in
trouble, companies call CDG to rescue them. When deadlines are quickly
approaching and the project is behind schedule, or the required expertise
for a project is not available, they call CDG. Our narrow focus, our
experienced consultants and our flexibility allow us to rescue troubled
HRIS consulting projects better than anyone else.
